You’ve seen Channel One News, right? They feature a very cool segment called 24/17 where  they document 24 hours in the life of a 17 year old student. Morehead Middle students thought it would be great to do the same thing with our 12 year old students. So, from time to time you’ll see segments on 24 hours in the life of a 12 year old. These segments are completely student produced. Let’s start off with one great student’s work! Check out Zach below:

Rock and Roll.

With the start of a new year we’ve started a new unit of study, yeah, you guessed it. Rocks and Minerals. To kick things off lets try a little web quest to get you more familiar with things. Water Rocket Extravaganza!

After studying the Solar System and all of the parts of it and then finding out how Rockets work, it’s time to cap it all off by shooting things off! Check out the rocket fun below!

Computer Code & Animation!!

Using the Alice program, created at Carnegie Mellon University by renowned professor Randy Pausch of ‘The Last Lecture,’ students are learning how to write computer code. After learning the basics of computer code/3-D animation, we’re taking what we’ve learned to make short movies that teach younger students the fundamentals of Reading and Math.

Create Your Own Planet!

We’ve learned a great deal about our Solar System and all the planets that are inside it. Now it’s time to see if you can create your own planet that is able to sustain life! Please visit this site to learn more about creating your own planet:
